More anniveraries celebrated in 2026.

#120: New Balance, the Boston-based brand has been peddling footwear since 1906 and is behind some of the sport’s most iconic, boundary-pushing models, including the Trackster, the 990 series, the 801 trail shoe, the Minimus collection and, more recently, the Rebel and SuperComp lines.

#50: Lincoln Running Company, a run specialty shop located in the shadow of the University of Nebraska and operated by the Rogers family since 1976.

#45: Keystone Running Store started out in 1981 as the Finish Line Running Store in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. A second store in Pottstown, PA, now complements the Allentown, PA, flagship. 

#45: The Running Shop, a run specialty shop dishing up running gear and workout advice in Tucson, AZ, since 1981.

#40: Running Wild, a Fort Lauderdale, FL, run specialty shop that bills itself as “The Store for Runners and Others Since 1986!”

#40: Tryathletics has been a destination for runners, bikers and swimmers in and around Columbia, MO, since 1986. Brian Kukla took ownership of the business in 2024.

#35: Hansons Running Shop boasts four retail locations in metro Detroit, though the family-owned business is well known nationally for the eponymous post-collegiate training program it founded in 1999 to develop American distance running talent.

#35: Runner’s Corner in Orem, UT, launched in 1991 when Hawk Harper and five members of the Sojourners Running Club opened a small running shop near the campus of Brigham Young University. The Harper clan, including Altra co-founder Golden Harper, continues steering Runner’s Corner today.

#30: Runner’s Den in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, is poised to mark its 30th anniversary on September 19 with a special 30K relay event packed with prizes, food and drinks.

#25: Runner’s High celebrates its 25th birthday in 2026. The running shop helmed by Rob DeFilippis, a decorated cross country and track coach at Red Bank Catholic high school, has two locations in central New Jersey – Freehold and Metuchen.

#25: Running Hub (photo above) has been the go-to destination for running gear in Santa Fe, NM, since its 2001 launch. Last year, longtime store manager Stephen Sweezey became the shop’s third owner, acquiring the business from veteran owner John Lumley.

#25: Verde Brand Communications has earned a reputation as one of the running and outdoor industry’s top public relations firms since its 2001 founding. Its current client roster includes the likes of Roll Recovery, Jogology and Scarpa.

#20: Achilles Running Shop was established by Dr. Mark Mendeszoon, a multi-board certified podiatrist and former Miami University track athlete. Achilles operates locations in Willoughby, OH, and Erie, PA.

#20: Big River Running opened its doors to the St. Louis running community in 2006. There are now three Big River stores scattered across metro St. Louis.

#20: Independence Run and Hike, where founder Brion After has built one of the best running stores in the Rocky Mountains. Last year, the Carbondale, CO-based store earned a Best Running Stores nod.

#20: Fit2Run, a fast-charging operation led by Parks Robinson, the son of Fit2Run founder Bill Robinson. Fit2Run now boasts nearly 50 locations spread across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Puerto Rico.

#10: Fleet Feet San Diego owner Kevin Lachenmyer got his start with Fleet Feet in San Francisco before returning to his southern California roots to open Fleet Feet San Diego in 2016.

#10: Millennium Running, founded by former professional runner John Mortimer, has grown into New Hampshire’s premier road race management company while its retail shop in Bedford, NH, celebrates its 10th birthday this year.

#10: The Athletic Company started as the Midland Athletic Company in Midland, TX. Owners Martin and Jennifer Vega have expanded over the last decade, adding The Athletic Company in Odessa, TX, to their portfolio as well as The Outfitters of Palo Pinto County in Mineral Wells, TX.

#10: Rochester Running Co., the New York-based running shop helmed by Jonathan Griffiths has built a loyal following in Rochester, NY, through its customer-centric retail store, weekly group runs and unique events.

#10: Grounded Running welcomed customers into its Beaufort, SC-based running shop in 2016, one year after owner and founder Tim Waz started a race management and timing company of the same name.
