Citing a need for more space among a growing run specialty business, Charm City Run recently revealed plans to relocate two of its stores – in Timonium and Annapolis, MD – to larger spaces not too far from their existing locations.

The Timonium store – its first store, which opened back in 2002 – will be relocating to 1313 York Road in Lutherville, MD. And after 16 years in The Annapolis Town Center, Charm City Run plans to relocate to nearby Forest Plaza.

The two stores are part of the eight-store retail chain in Maryland and Delaware that is a perennial Best Running Stores winner, including 2023.

“While reasons to move a location can vary, and the factors in these two decisions differ somewhat, the one overwhelming reason to move both stores was space,” says Josh Levinson, founder and CEO of Charm City Run. “Our customers deserve more of it and our dedicated staff needs the additional room to effectively serve our customers.”

The Timonium store will relocate to a two-story space with an expanded parking lot and additional room for more product and fitting stations. The store’s square footage will increase from 4000-square feet to 7400-square feet. The move is expected to be completed over the winter.

Charm City Run Annapolis will move from its 2700-square-foot space to a 4000-square-foot store across the street. The new store will feature additional fitting stations, more product and backroom space for inventory. That move is expected to be completed Summer 2024.

“We believe these new locations will exude the same comfortable and welcoming environment our customers have come to expect when walking into a Charm City Run, “ adds Tom Mansfield, president of Charm City Run. “However, these significant moves will allow us to more effectively serve our customers and present all the best products that Charm City Run has to offer.”
